Web Center Pre-Meeting Checklist

Are you Ready to Meet with your CPA Advisor Online? Get the most from your 30-minute meeting by following our Pre-Meeting Checklist:

Prepare Your Computer

Check your computer's telephone line
DSL lines are required when participating in a Web Conference.  If you share a single telephone line for both telephone and Internet phone at 56k connection, we recommend you contact E-File Online and arrange for a teleconference meeting.

Turn off all other programs
Turn off all other programs before starting your meeting in order to keep free-up as much memory open as you can.

AOL Users
If you use AOL to access the Internet, you may speed performance if you minimize AOL after signing in and then open and use Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape to access the Web Center.

Confirm WebEx Meeting Center is ready?
This new user check ensures your computer is ready to go when the time comes.
Click the New User? link at the Web Center and make your computer ready before the meeting.

Organize Your Tax Documents

Print a copy of your TaxNotebook
Do you have a printed copy of your Organizer and is it on-hand?

Mark-up Pages to Discuss
Have you marked the pages in the Organizer you want to discuss?

Check Tax Forms
Do you have all your W-2s, 1099s, Broker Statements and other tax forms on-hand?
Do you have last year's tax return on-hand - just in case it's needed?

Prepare Your Questions

Find answers in Tax Guide 2008 
Have you tried to answer the tax question using Tax Guide 2006 yourself? Get the easy ones out of the way.

Write Down Questions
Have you made as list of simply worded questions that you want to cover in the Web Session?

Prioritize Your Questions
Have you prioritized your questions to ask - with the most important coming first?

Scan other documents
Have you scanned any special document e.g. closing statement, that you want your CPA Advisor to see online?

Other Important Things to Remember :

Check the Time
Keep a clock or watch nearby. Remember 30-minutes goes by quickly and you want to pace yourself.

Be on Time
A CPA Advisor has reserved 30-minutes for your meeting. If you do not show after 15 minutes, your CPA Advisor is authorized to end the meeting. No Refunds are Allowed for Missed Meetings or Partial Meetings due to tardiness.

Be there Early
Find your Meeting Name and make sure you have your meeting password ready. Review the Pre-Meeting Checklist.

Keep the Meeting Moving
Don't get bogged down on one or two questions. Set 2-3 minutes aside for each question or topic and keep the meeting moving. Always give the CPA Advisor time to respond to your question.

Begin to Wrap-Up the meeting after 25 minutes
Leave the last 5 minutes for conclusions and discussion of any follow-up if necessary.

Additional time
If follow-up is necessary and/or you didn't finish covering everything on your list - Don't Panic!You can request additional time by through E-File Online, Inc services page.

Reschedule a Meeting
Due to the high level of demand during tax filing season, meetings with CPA Advisors cannot be rescheduled unless done 72 hours in advance through E-File Online, Inc. A $50 fee is charged to reschedule your 30-minute meeting to another time. Rescheduled meetings are subject to the availability of meeting times of the CPA Advisor.
